While helping the poor and needy people the need is to direct energies and efforts in raising them, building relationship, teaching them and moreover, regaining their self-confidence and self-esteem to work for themselves instead of considering them as a project to help, view them as Ummah to love and respect.
JUSTICE – (Adal)
In responding to poverty and suffering, our efforts are driven by sincerity to Allah and the need to fulfill our obligations to humanity.
Solidarity with Ummahis also about the promotion of equality of rights and equality of opportunities; hence we must oppose all forms of discrimination. Solidarity binds Ummahtogether as members of a common family makes it impossible for wealthy nations to look with indifference to those who are poor or in any way afflicted, or suffering from hunger, misery and poverty.
EXCELLENCE – (Ehsaan)
Our actions in tackling poverty are marked by excellence in our appeals, operations and conduct, which are deserving of the people we serve.
COMPASSION – (Rehmat)
We believe the protection and well-being of every life is of paramount importance and we shall join with other humanitarians to act as one in responding to suffering brought on by disasters, poverty and injustice.
GENEROSITY – (Sakhawat)
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is recorded as having said: “No one of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself,”. The concept of charitable giving in Islam is very broad one, including monetary and in kind generosity.
